Hawaiian Days of the Week Print Series! (Now Available!)

Hawaiian Days of the Week Prints are finished! Whoohoo! It's so nice to have these around the house, they bring so much aloha to my walls. Each days of the week corresponds to a color of the rainbow (Roy.G Biv) Which adds a nice splash of color! The designs are had drawn, each print is hand pulled and crafted by yours truly! I have set up a shop if you wish to purchase a set for yourself. Right now they are unframed, but check back soon, framing will be available in a few weeks!

Easy Like Lâpule Morning!

The prints are coming along! I have all backgrounds finished plus Saturday and Sunday (since it's the weekend duh!) ;) It's hard to tell in this photo but each day of the week (the English and pronunciation) will be a color of the rainbow. Sunday = Red, Monday = Orange, Tuesday =Yellow, etc, etc. ROYGBIV forever!

I am so excited to be printing again and seeing old friends and students (who are just about to graduate, I'm so proud!!) in the studio! What a lovely Sunday. Can't wait to finish the rest of the week! Huzzah!

Hawaiian Days of the Week Print Series!

I have started working on a new print series. I am working on a set of days of the week, in Hawaiian. Since I live in Hawaii and I think Hawaiian is one of the most beautiful spoken languages, I am making several series with the words, the translation and the pronunciation. 

Sunday – Lâpule (lah-poo-lay )
Monday – Pô`akahi (poh ah-kah-hee)
Tuesday – Pô`alua (poh ah-loo-ah)
Wednesday – Pô'akolu (poh ah-ko-loo)
Thursday – Pô`ahâ (poh ah-ha)
Friday – Pô`alima (poh ah-lee-mah)
Saturday – Pô`aono (poh ah-o-no)

I'll be working on the printing starting this weekend so check back soon for updates and to purchase!

Aloha!

I am back in Hawaii and it feels so good. I am making new digital work that is inspired by the landscape of Hawaii and catching up on all things art. As I get settled back into teaching and swimming I'll be doing my best to update much more often (Last entry was a year ago? Eek!) So check back on some ongoing and upcoming projects!

Color Cheat Sheet

Hello Lovelies!

On Friday I was working on site at Muse Art and Design as one of their "Artist a Day" Artists. If you are in the Hawthorne area please stop by the shop and check out the work I made! The final piece will be auctioned off in May and the money raised will be used to purchase art supplies for local schools! The work still needs to be finished so I should be wrapping it up this week and it'll be up by next week! (fingers crossed)

Bidding starts as soon as the work is finished so stop by and check out some of the amazing pieces done by myself and other local artists!!
